FuTour - Frameworks for the Future Tourism

The Project

Based on the EU tourism policy, the current “FuTour” project aims to support trainers from the tourism sector to redefine themselves, establish and develop innovative strategies and smart approaches.

The project promotes sustainable and digital tourism by equipping industry players with the latest updates, trends, methods and tools to deliver authentic programs and courses to prepare competitive and employable future tourism industry professionals/employees. FuTour will present best practices, create partnerships and cooperation possibilities, deal with new services, develop innovative solutions and responses, such as gamification, preventing over-tourism, suggesting more sustainable and resilient solutions, ensuring safe and secure tourism and create additional services digitally.

The project aims to strengthen students' digital skills so that they pave their career path independently and successfully in the tourism sector, have a sustainable income and overall socio-economic outlook and understanding of best practices and innovations, and have ideas for greener and more sustainable methods in the industry.

In the long term these measures will help to curb and overcome economic crises in the tourism sector, allow operators to be compatible but also competitive with other suppliers and destinations, as well as to resist smart sustainable tourism in Europe in the future. Therefore, the frameworks and solutions conceived and developed within the project will be multifaceted, comprehensive and coherent.
